Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Spherical Lapping Specialist to join our team on an evening shift. As a key member of our utility team, you will be responsible for manually spherical lapping inner diameters to planning instructions or drawing requirements using a conventional drill press.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a conventional drill press per lead's instructions to achieve precise results.
  • Make necessary machine adjustments, such as simple time and pressure corrections, to maintain part target size.
  • Utilize a range of tools, including files, electric Dremels, pneumatic die grinders, deburring wheels, carbide bits, Scotchbrite, emery cloth, sandpaper, and polishing wheels, to break sharp edges on various types of products.
  • Understand basic machining measurements, necessary for stock removal, and measure parts with a caliper and check threads with a thread gauge.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions to meet cell objectives and communicate process information back to the lead for process improvement.
  • Perform tasks that require sitting and standing frequently throughout the shift, including repeated walking from work area to wash tank and to the part gauging area.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Lift at least 25 lbs, with assistance for heavier loads.
