Job Summary

The Curriculum and Instruction Coordinator will provide leadership in the development of departmental goals and objectives. This role will oversee the development, maintenance, and recommendation of department policies and procedures. The Coordinator will serve as the Lead Instructor for High School Equivalency, English as a Second Language, Integrated Education and Training, and Adult Basic Education programs. They will work closely with the College and Texas Workforce Commission to develop strategies for student success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and coordinate the development of curriculum and instruction to meet the ever-changing needs of adult learners.
  • Perform the duties of the Professional Development Coordinator at a rate of 20% FTE.
  • Compile information from instructors to assist in placing students into appropriate classes and levels of instruction.
  • Develop and manage instructor schedules within established timeframes.
  • Serve as the administrative liaison between instructor staff and the Director and Associate Director.
  • Ensure proper class preparation, instruction, and record annotation via MyOneFlow within established timeframes.
  • Monitor student progress using proper TEAMS and MyOneFlow reports and develop plans to remedy non/slow progression.
  • Assist in monitoring assessment status of students and reminding instructors to follow up with students.
  • Oversee the onboarding process and ensure new hires complete Temple College HR, TWC PD Portal, TEAMS, and MyOneFlow requirements within established timeframes.
  • Oversee the timely completion of instructor time sheets.
  • Teach classes in certified content areas as needed.
  • Attend conferences, training, and professional development opportunities and serve as the Trainer of Trainers to ensure staff development.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Director and Associate Director.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field with two years of directly related full-time work experience.
  • Directly related part-time work experience will be pro-rated and the finalized pro-rated calculation must meet the minimum requirements.
  • Preferred qualifications include two years of classroom experience in adult literacy, one year of supervisory experience, and familiarity with TEAMS and MyOneFlow.
Working Conditions

This is an on-site position with essential duties performed in-person during prescribed work hours. The work schedule is Monday-Thursday 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, Friday 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, with summer hours from Monday-Thursday 7:30 am to 6:00 pm with a half-hour lunch. Evenings and weekends may be required.
