Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Coordinator of Assessment and Data Management. This role will play a critical part in improving instruction and increasing student achievement by coordinating assessment of testing programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of district assessment services.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to articulate the vision and role of the district assessment program.
  • Provide regular updates on TEA regulations, guidelines, and mandates related to assessment to campus and district personnel.
  • Implement policies established by federal and state law, State Board of education rule, and local board policy.
  • Support the supervisor in completing compliance requirements and reporting for federal programs.
  • Develop manuals and materials for the department and district.
  • Lead/assist in professional development assessment training for teachers and administrators.
  • Provide leadership for the implementation of district and campus test security.
  • Keep current with developments in the field of assessment.
  • Manage district databases and data packages for the department and district.
  • Provide school support in data analysis that facilitates improved student performance.
  • Coordinate the ordering, distribution, record keeping, and collection of all state and district assessments.
  • Interface with testing providers and upload district data.
  • Evaluate the district's testing program.
  • Compile, disaggregate, maintain, file, and present reports, records, and other documents related to the assessment program.
  • Provide research data related to measuring student achievement.
  • Prepare documents, summaries, and reports as requested.
  • Compile budgets and cost estimates based on assessment program needs.
  • Provide counsel regarding potential technological programs in the area of student testing and cooperate in their implementation.
  • Coordinate the scheduling and administration of group tests of aptitude, achievement, language proficiency, and academic skills.
  • Coordinate credit by exam and kindergarten acceleration testing.
  • Coordinate at-risk documentation.
Requirements
  • A Master's Degree in educational leadership, counseling, or curriculum and instruction.
  • Experience as a testing coordinator at the campus or district level, preferred.
Language Skills

The ideal candidate will have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. They will also be able to respond to common inquiries or complaints from regulatory agencies, administrators, education board, faculty, parents, students, and the community.

Mathematical Skills

The candidate will have the ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. They will also be able to apply mathematical operations to tasks such as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

Reasoning Abilities

The ideal candidate will have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. They will also be able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

The candidate will have a Mid-Management/Principal Certificate.

Other Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the ability to use databases, spreadsheets, word processing, and presentation software. They will also have the technical skills related to testing, research, and planning needs.
