- Applied Academic Activities: Integrate applied academic activities into daily classroom curriculum, promoting hands-on learning and student engagement.
- Classroom Preparation: Ensure adequate classroom preparation, including lesson planning, materials, and equipment.
- Student Performance: Track student performance and achievement, making recommendations for student awards and incentives.
- Attendance and Reporting: Record attendance at the beginning of each class period and assist in the completion of all necessary Job Corps forms and entering case notes.
- Security and Maintenance: Follow security measures to ensure the safety and security of equipment, curriculum, tests, and supplies, and maintain a clean and organized classroom environment.
- Evaluations and Reporting: Prepare reports, requisitions, and evaluations of student performance in a timely manner, providing accurate and comprehensive assessments.
- Additional Responsibilities: Assist the manager during scheduled property inventory and perform all other duties as assigned.
To be successful as a Reading Instructor, you will need:
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with certification to teach in the state where the center is located.
- Experience: One year of experience in a teaching capacity with disadvantaged youth, with a strong understanding of the subject area and excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of required subject area, excellent communication skills, both oral and written, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to motivate and inspire students.
Career Systems offers a competitive salary range of $66,560 - $75,000 annually, with a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
