Job Summary

The Process Engineer III is a key member of the Southwire team, responsible for driving process improvements and optimizing manufacturing operations. This role requires a strong understanding of process engineering principles, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and Improve Manufacturing Processes

Develop and implement strategies to close performance gaps in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

Lead Cross-Functional Teams

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvement projects and Kaizens, applying process improvement tools such as statistical process control, process mapping, control charts, design of experiments, Six Sigma, and Lean methodologies.

Own Change Management and Validation

Develop and implement change management and validation processes for designated processes, ensuring seamless integration with existing operations.

Lead Process Design and Validation

Develop and implement process design and validation activities for the launch of new products and production equipment, applying the APQP process and related tools.

Provide Subject Matter Leadership

Provide subject matter expertise in the selection, introduction, and integration of process control and automation technologies, ensuring alignment with business and process needs.

Deploy Connected Enterprise

Work with cross-functional teams to deploy and utilize Connected Enterprise for data collection, reporting, and improvement.

Develop Management Systems

Develop and implement management systems for processes that meet quality requirements for customers, regulatory bodies, and internal requirements.

Capital Equipment Roadmap

Contribute to the development of a capital equipment roadmap, assisting with financial justification and implementation.

Process Documentation

Develop and maintain process documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures, Troubleshooting Guides, and other necessary materials for employee training.

Training and Development

Develop and conduct training programs for new and existing employees to increase organizational effectiveness.

Requirements
  • Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.

Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience in process engineering, continuous improvement, or related field.

Certifications

Preferred Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
