Nurse Director Assistant

Mass General Brigham is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Nurse Director to join our team in Medford, Massachusetts.
Job Summary:The Assistant Nurse Director will provide clinical and administrative support to the Nurse Director in extending leadership presence and providing clinical support to Shapiro 7 East/West (Cardiac Surgery Intermediate) and Shapiro 6 West (Cardiac Surgery Critical Care Unit). This role will assist in developing the best staff, assessing clinical patterns within populations, and facilitating the mobilization and allocation of resources to meet the immediate needs of patients and families.
Responsibilities:- Support the Nurse Director in translating the vision and values of the Department of Nursing at the unit-level.
- Develop and implement unit-based standards and policies.
- Facilitate and expedite patient flow to ensure timely and appropriate care.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to clinical staff to develop partnerships with patients and families.
- Participate in daily huddles and rounds with clinical staff for clinical consultation, coaching, and problem-solving.
- Manage day-to-day staffing and resources to respond to dynamic changes in patient census and acuity.
- Develop and implement education and training programs for support staff.
- Current registration in nursing in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- MSN, DNP, or PhD, or a BSN with a master's degree in a related field, required.
- Current certification in a relevant area, required or to be attained within two years from date of hire.
- Previous ICU experience and nursing leadership experience preferred.
