Key Responsibilities:- Coordinate and expedite donor center operations, including supervising and directing staff to advance toward department blood product collection goals.
- Develop strong collaborative relationships across roles, disciplines, and departments to ensure timely access to emerging needs of patients.
- Provide clinical oversight and support to nursing staff and donor technicians, collaborating with the Medical Director, Nursing Director, and Practice Manager.
- Manage changes in staffing schedules and adjust resources to ensure operational needs are met.
- Authorize hours worked by donor room staff, including overtime, and assume accountability for evaluating performance.
- Participate in the selection, supervision, and development of staff, as well as coordinate orientation and address staff development needs.
- Collaborate with the Nurse Director and Medical Director to set quality standards for blood product donation and participate in the development, validation, and revision of standard operating procedures.
- Graduated from an approved school of nursing, BSN required; MSN preferred; NE-BC preferred.
- Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Massachusetts.
- Continually update clinical knowledge and skills through formal and informal education and review of current literature.
- Proven ability to work well independently, possess sound decision-making skills, and work effectively when required to make and facilitate complex decisions.
