Job Summary:
The Transportation Specialist will be responsible for safely transporting residents to various events and appointments both on and off campus. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any mechanical or electrical failure to the Transportation Coordinator
- Pick up residents at the appointed time and place, ensuring they are safely secured in the vehicle before beginning the trip
- Follow all road safety rules and report any accidents immediately to the Transportation Supervisor
- Complete passenger logs and turn them in to the Transportation Supervisor
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness, comfort, and/or safety
- Evaluate work processes and methods and submit recommendations for continuous quality improvement
- Assist in covering extra trips and non-scheduled shifts as needed
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you must possess a current driving license from the Commonwealth of Virginia and have a good driving record. A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a class A, B, or C with passenger endorsement is also required. Additionally, a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical is required at the time of hire.
Benefits:
This position offers a competitive salary of $16.00 per hour, commensurate with experience. The base pay rate includes an hourly wage plus benefits such as paid time off and opportunities for professional growth and development.
About the Role:
