Job Summary

The Patient Access Specialist plays a crucial role in optimizing scheduling processes for George Washington Medical Faculty Associates (MFA) patients. This position requires strong communication and problem-solving skills to resolve complex scheduling issues and provide first-line support to other Access Center Specialists.

Key Responsibilities
  • Scheduling Optimization: Validate the efficiency of bump schedule management, perform quality assurance checks of inbound/outbound calls, and oversee daily Follow My Health requests.
  • Partnerships and Development: Develop and sustain effective partnerships with providers, department leaders, Master Schedulers, and team members. Facilitate staff development in conjunction with Contact Center management.
  • Performance Monitoring: Provide input regarding individual/team performance to Call Center Manager, monitor SLA on a continual basis, and communicate significant variances to management.
  • Critical Issue Resolution: Identify critical issues that negatively impact service level and resolve them quickly.
Requirements
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proper grammar and phone etiquette.
  • Customer Service Experience: Have a minimum of four years' work experience in a medical/healthcare environment, with two years of Call Center experience required.
  • Technical Skills: Be proficient in utilizing a web-based computerized system for scheduling and Microsoft Office programs.
