Job Summary

The Patient Access Representative plays a vital role in ensuring seamless patient experiences at Med-Metrix. This individual is responsible for addressing public needs, managing resource dissemination, and maintaining accurate patient records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor the waiting area, addressing patient complaints and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Notify relevant personnel of concerns that require their attention.
  • Provide interim solutions to address patient needs.
  • Accurately collect and record patient information, including name, address, phone number, insurance details, and employment status.
  • Enter essential information into the computer system.
  • Photocopy identification and insurance cards and attach them to patient charts.
  • Verify patient consent and initials on charts.
  • Assist doctors and nurses in locating information as needed.
  • Provide patients with general information, such as fees and resource personnel, by referring them to the social worker and/or Financial Assistance for Medicaid application.
  • Offer assistance to physicians, department managers, and clinical staff as needed.
  • Communicate effectively, using clear written and oral techniques.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Ensure the secure use, protection, and disclosure of patients' protected health information (PHI) in accordance with HIPAA standards.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of customer service experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
Working Conditions
  • Physical Demands: The employee may occasionally need to move around the work area, sit, perform manual tasks, operate office equipment, and extend arms.
  • Mental Demands: The employee must be able to follow directions, collaborate with others, and handle stress.
  • Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.
