POSITION SUMMARY

This role provides essential support to the leadership team at Highmark, or its affiliates, focusing on strategic initiatives vital for growth within the Government Market, particularly aimed at enhancing Medicaid membership and achieving financial objectives.

As a Strategy Consultant, you will engage in analytical and strategic planning to uncover and evaluate growth prospects: (1) track industry regulations, trends, and opportunity timelines, (2) evaluate strategic alignment for Highmark, (3) rank potential opportunities, and (4) assist in crafting business cases to facilitate informed decision-making.


Key Responsibilities in Growth Initiatives and Market Development:
1) Design and implement analytical frameworks for exploring growth avenues (including market research, scenario analysis, forecasting, market share evaluation, and profitability assessments); 2) Generate technical documentation (competitive intelligence and market trend evaluations); 3) Formulate formal recommendations for Senior Leadership; 4) Develop documentation components (strategic market entry or operational strategies) that address critical strategic matters and decisions; 5) Establish partnership agreements and assist in contract negotiations; 6) Aid in the formulation and execution of market entry strategies.

The Strategy Consultant may assume various roles within a project, encompassing project leadership, problem-solving, data analysis, team guidance, communication, implementation, and project oversight.

The individual in this position will often be pivotal in the formulation and execution of strategies for specific initiatives.

Engagement in multiple projects will provide exposure to various facets of the organization, contributing to planning, communication, and management of the enterprise strategy.


CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead or assist in significant strategic projects across the organization.

The role will adapt based on the initiative, incorporating elements of team leadership, analytical problem-solving, project management, communication, and implementation support.

Participate in the creation of strategic plans for the organization and its key business units.
Assist the team in identifying, clarifying, and resolving complex challenges crucial to the success of the initiative.
Support the identification of initiative impacts in relation to other strategic projects to ensure cohesive alignment of the overall strategy.
Contribute to the development of standardized analytics and processes to guide various strategic initiatives.
Play a role in cultivating the culture and skill set of the Strategy Team.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Required

Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field, or equivalent experience and/or education as determined by the company in lieu of a bachelor's degree.

Preferred
Master's Degree in Business or a related field

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Required
6 years of post-bachelor degree relevant experience in Business or Healthcare or a comparable combination of experience and education
2 years of consulting experience with exposure to innovation or healthcare-related sectors or a comparable combination of experience and education
Preferred
6 years of experience in payer, hospital systems, or care delivery sectors
Experience in driving change within complex organizational frameworks
Familiarity with Medicaid and Medicare managed care operations and technology
