Job Description and Duties

Under the general direction of the Program and Project Supervisor, in the Data Analysis & Systems Section in the Broadband Deployment Branch, the incumbent will perform a broad range of research, geospatial analyses and map development, data analyses and undertake various tasks and assignments to inform the development of broadband plans by region and county in unserved and undeserved parts of California.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain GIS desktop and web-based applications
  • Analyze and interpret complex data sets using GIS, Access, Excel, Tableau and other available software
  • Communicate technical information in written and oral formats
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have experience developing, investigating and analyzing thematic, demographic, and underserved information from multiple data sources using GIS, Access, Excel, Tableau and other available software. The candidate should also have experience developing and maintaining GIS desktop and web-based applications, as well as effectively communicating technical information in written and oral formats.

Working Conditions

This position requires travel and may involve working in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines. The incumbent will be required to work independently and as part of a team to achieve project goals.
