Position Summary

The Registered Nurse Charge in the NICU is tasked with supervising patient care, ensuring adherence to nursing standards, and aligning with the organization’s mission to deliver compassionate and effective healthcare. This role encompasses evaluating patients, identifying nursing diagnoses, formulating individualized care plans, and continuously monitoring patient responses to treatments. The RN Charge will lead the nursing team in providing superior care, nurturing a supportive atmosphere, and promoting clinical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Employ nursing judgment and clinical reasoning to conduct comprehensive health assessments in accordance with established standards.
  • Supervise and assess nursing procedures, applying evidence-based practices to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Exhibit compassionate care by addressing both emotional and physical discomfort, facilitating healing, and minimizing distress.
  • Guide and mentor the nursing team, ensuring that patient care is delivered with empathy, accuracy, and in line with best practices.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to devise and implement effective care plans tailored to each patient’s unique requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all pertinent regulations, policies, and procedures to maintain a safe and effective care environment.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited nursing program.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a NICU or similar clinical environment.
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional problem-solving capabilities and critical thinking skills.
