Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an ICU Registered Nurse, you will collaborate with various healthcare professionals to implement and manage patient care plans.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Conducting thorough patient assessments upon admission.
  • Developing and adjusting care plans based on patient responses and treatment effectiveness.
  • Documenting nursing interventions and patient outcomes.
  • Providing educational resources to patients and their families regarding care and treatment options.
  • Administering medications and performing treatments in accordance with hospital protocols.
  • Managing IV fluids and medications.
  • Reviewing and executing physician orders, ensuring proper documentation and communication with relevant departments.
  • Alerting the Charge Nurse or physician of any changes in patient condition.
  • Delivering accurate patient information to ensure continuity of care during shifts.
Qualifications


Experience:

  • Clinical nursing experience required.
  • Minimum of 1 year in a Staff Registered Nurse role preferred.
  • Charge Nurse experience is advantageous.


Education:

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program, or current enrollment in an Alternative Entry Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.


Licenses and Certifications:

  • Current Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact RN license (Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification as per St. David's Healthcare policy.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 12 months of hire.
