Position Overview: Commercial Construction Project Manager

Role Summary:

The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the comprehensive planning, coordination, execution, and oversight of all essential components to ensure project completion on time, within financial constraints, and to the required quality standards. The PM plays a pivotal leadership role, acting as the liaison among project team members to promote the interests of both the organization and clients while exemplifying the qualities of a mid-level leader. The PM is the principal authority for the construction initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with company safety protocols, maintaining accurate documentation
  • Develop and oversee project budgets for all assigned initiatives
  • Prepare and manage pre-construction Request for Proposal (RFP) packages
  • Facilitate project meetings, establish milestones, and generate monthly reports for owners
  • Define job processes (RFIs, submittals, pay applications), authorize pay applications, and negotiate changes with subcontractors
  • Create project timelines, enforce quality assurance, and coordinate project logistics
  • Effectively manage the project closeout phase
  • Engage with both new and existing clients to identify their needs and articulate how our services can fulfill those requirements
  • Supervise supporting roles such as assistant project managers, administrative staff, MEP managers, and safety personnel
  • Collaborate with the project superintendent and site operations team throughout the project lifecycle

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma is required; a four-year degree in construction, engineering, or business is strongly preferred
  • Extensive experience in commercial construction, particularly with a commercial general contractor, totaling 5+ years
  • Previous experience in a project management role with the capacity to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Proficiency in industry-specific software such as Microsoft Office suite, ProCore, Adobe, BlueBeam, JD Edwards, etc.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and update project-related documents
  • Skilled in organizing resources to meet deadlines and achieve project goals
  • Current knowledge of pricing standards and trends in the market
  • Proven ability to lead projects, communicate effectively, maintain a positive demeanor, demonstrate integrity, and pursue continuous improvement
