Position Overview: Commercial Construction Project Manager

Role Summary:

The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the comprehensive development, coordination, implementation, and oversight of all essential components to ensure project completion on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The PM plays a pivotal leadership role, serving as the liaison between project team members to promote the interests of both the organization and clients while exemplifying the qualities of a mid-level leader. The PM is the primary authority for the construction project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with company safety protocols, maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Establish and oversee project budgets for all assigned initiatives.
  • Prepare and manage pre-construction RFP packages.
  • Facilitate project meetings, set key milestones, and generate monthly reports for owners.
  • Define job processes (RFIs, submittals, pay applications), approve payment requests, and negotiate changes to subcontract agreements.
  • Develop and manage project timelines, ensure quality assurance, and coordinate project logistics.
  • Effectively handle the project closeout process.
  • Engage with both new and existing clients to assess their needs and articulate how our services can fulfill those requirements.
  • Supervise supporting roles, including assistant project managers, administrative staff, MEP managers, and safety personnel.
  • Collaborate closely with the project superintendent and site operations team throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma is required; a four-year degree in construction, engineering, or business is strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of substantial experience in commercial construction, particularly with a commercial general contractor.
  • Prior experience in a project management role with the capability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Proficiency in industry-specific software such as Microsoft Office suite, ProCore, Adobe, BlueBeam, JD Edwards, etc.
  • Expertise in interpreting construction drawings and updating project-related documentation.
  • Ability to effectively organize resources to meet deadlines and achieve project goals.
  • Current knowledge of pricing conventions and trends in the construction market.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, effective communication, a positive attitude, integrity, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
