Position Summary

The Guest House Coordinator plays a vital role in delivering exceptional service to families residing at the OHSU Rood Family Pavilion. This position involves collaborating with a team to ensure a welcoming and supportive environment for guests, facilitating check-ins and check-outs, and coordinating various hospitality initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary contact for guests, addressing their needs during check-in, check-out, and throughout their stay.
  • Facilitate connections between guests and community resources, overseeing activities and distributing welcome materials.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of communal areas in partnership with housekeeping staff.
  • Welcome and manage both individual and group volunteers.
  • Support the Meals from the Heart initiative by coordinating with volunteer meal groups and ensuring pantry supplies are well-stocked.

Additional Duties:

  • Assist the Family Placement Team with room reservations as needed.
  • Participate in on-call duties as part of a rotating schedule.
  • Uphold security and emergency protocols for the safety of staff, volunteers, and guests.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Work Environment:

This role primarily takes place in an office setting, with potential attendance at events that may occur indoors or outdoors. The position may require lifting items up to 30 pounds and standing for extended periods.

Qualifications:

Experience: A minimum of one year in a customer service, social service, healthcare, childcare, or hospitality role is preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong customer service orientation with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Ability to interact sensitively and diplomatically with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Basic proficiency in computer applications, including email and word processing software.
  • Capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively under pressure.
  • Fluency in Spanish is highly desirable.
