Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and charismatic Receptionist to join our team at Soho House Portland. As a key member of our front desk team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, ensuring a seamless guest experience, and maintaining the highest standards of hospitality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcome and greet members and guests, ensuring a warm and personalized experience.
  • Manage high-volume phone lines, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Handle reservations, restaurant inquiries, and general questions with accuracy and discretion.
  • Maintain a clean and organized reception area, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all guests.
  • Support and problem-solve in real-time, addressing guest concerns and escalating issues as needed.
  • Assist with coat check, item retrieval, and other guest-related tasks.
  • Build relationships with members and guests, communicating feedback and concerns to management.
  • Punctuate all interactions with friendliness, accuracy, and discretion.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2+ years' experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of excellent customer service.
  • High-volume phone experience, with the ability to respond professionally and timely to inquiries.
  • Knowledge of or experience with software such as OpenTable, Salesforce, and basic AV/IT systems.
  • Problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve conflicts and escalate issues as needed.
  • Detail-oriented, articulate, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Flexible schedule, with the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to seize, grasp, turn, and hold objects with hands.
  • Ability to work on feet for at least 8 hours.
  • Fast-paced movements required to navigate the club.
  • Ability to move, pull, carry, or lift at least 40 pounds.
  • Occasional kneeling, bending, crouching, and climbing required.
