Procurement Buyer Job Description

As a key member of the Finance team, you will work on various projects to ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures.

  • Review and process purchase requisitions to ensure proper documentation, currency, and payment terms.
  • Evaluate supplier contracts to ensure compliance with legal requirements and promote established organizational policies and procedures for vendor engagement.
  • Confirm that modifications and changes to existing orders are properly documented and processed.
  • Develop and promote strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Assist with obtaining and analyzing proposals or quotations for consumables, equipment, and services.
  • Partner with internal customers to expedite purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
  • Properly escalate any known supply chain disruptions, order discrepancies, or contract matters for internal review and remediation.
  • Support internal stakeholders with invoice resolution matters and purchase order creation.
  • Evaluate and test system enhancements for new or existing company platforms.
  • Generate reports to monitor purchasing activity by category, goods receipts, and vendor spend.
  • Work with the management team to ensure that all deliveries satisfy assigned orders and report any back-ordered or missing products.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or a related subject.
  • 3+ years' experience in a similar position, with experience in Laboratory Consumables, Capital Equipment, IT, and Travel Categories preferred.
  • Extreme attention to detail.
  • The ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to collaborate and work together as part of a team.
  • The ability to independently identify, research, and resolve issues.
