Position Overview

The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for executing procurement tasks including category management support, RFPs, and strategic sourcing initiatives. This role also addresses order and contract issues as they arise. The position involves negotiating work scopes and pricing with suppliers and developing contracts in accordance with company protocols. The Specialist will work collaboratively to identify opportunities for process improvements and may mentor other Procurement Specialists.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute procurement transactions and related duties as needed.
  • Source standard materials and services from suppliers while ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and reliability.
  • Conduct bid evaluations, cost analyses, price justifications, and risk assessments for suppliers.
  • Create and manage purchase orders and facilitate RFPs for materials and services.
  • Negotiate, award, and implement contracts and purchase orders.
  • Oversee new vendor onboarding processes.
  • Collaborate with business units to define the scope and objectives of purchases.
  • Communicate proactively with internal departments regarding procurement delays affecting operations.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to resolve supplier-related issues.
  • Ensure compliance with established procurement policies and procedures.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of procurement systems and processes.
  • Provide expertise to ensure Service Level Agreements meet the needs of the end-user client area.
Educational Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is required.
    • Relevant job-related experience may be considered for candidates without a degree.
Experience Requirements
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in procurement, particularly in managing large and complex vendor negotiations with a proven track record of achieving sustainable cost reductions.
  • Experience in leveraging market dynamics to drive value and a solid understanding of procure-to-pay principles.
  • Experience in the construction sector is advantageous.
