Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Equipment Maintenance Technician to join our team at Headway Technologies, Inc. in Milpitas, California. As an Equipment Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine and preventative maintenance on semiconductor Photolithography, Plating, or Vacuum tool sets, ensuring that tools are performing at optimum levels by adhering to the established maintenance schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on multiple tools in a specified area, ensuring tools are performing at optimum levels and within specification.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues quickly and efficiently to ensure optimum tool up time.
  • Partner with engineering, vendors, or other groups to improve tool reliability, reduce Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), increase Mean Time to Preventative Maintenance (MTTPM), and resolve yield issues.
  • Prepare data or documentation for daily/weekly pass down meetings.
  • Read and interpret schematics, mechanical drawings, manuals, and tool repair guides.
  • Recommend improvements or changes to existing processes in support of continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Transport tools or equipment to various locations or aisles within the cleanroom depending on requirement.
  • Document all repairs made to equipment using MESA quickly and efficiently.
  • Respond to inquiries from other team members, managers, or departments.
  • Work scheduled and unscheduled overtime as required.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures as required.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in electronics, industrial manufacturing, and/or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Two years of hands-on experience working in equipment maintenance in a semiconductor or high volume manufacturing environment.
  • Strong hands-on experience maintaining tools in either Photolithography, Plating, or Vacuum contingent on shift and area.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Applications.
Working Conditions

The Equipment Maintenance Technician works a rotating schedule A, B, C, or D shift. Work hours may be altered from time-to-time contingent on business need; may travel from building-to-building as needed. Works in a class 100 ESD sensitive wafer manufacturing facility; wears a cleanroom (bunny) suit, including hood, gloves, safety glasses, booties, and mask. May be exposed to hazardous conditions, chemicals, fumes, and/or gases during the course of work day; may be exposed to loud noise; may work in close proximity to moving mechanical parts. Stands and walks, bends, twists, and crawls; May occasionally be required to work in crawl spaces, shafts, or other areas that could cause claustrophobia; wears a respirator in order to accommodate safety requirements. Performs various fine grasping movements; operates a computer and enters information using a keyboard, operates a telephone, and other office equipment; may occasionally push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds.
