Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide care for a diverse patient population with complex medical and emotional needs, demonstrating compassion and the ability to manage challenging behaviors in both individual and group settings.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of medical and behavioral interactions within health record management systems, ensuring completeness and compliance.
  • Facilitate the administration of consent forms and patient questionnaires as required.
  • Assist healthcare providers in drafting and transferring orders efficiently.
  • Manage imaging orders as requested by providers, including form completion and documentation.
  • Prepare patient charts in advance of medical and behavioral appointments, ensuring all necessary documents are uploaded.
  • Collect and record vital signs and initial screening information, including drug screening and COVID-related forms.
  • Administer urine drug screens and assist in interpreting results, ensuring proper follow-up as needed.
  • Review and assist providers with the Controlled Substance Utilization Review and Evaluation System (CURES) report.
  • Coordinate referrals to external providers and community health resources as directed.
  • Document injection consents and assist with the administration of injections.
  • Support patients within the clinic by managing appointment scheduling, confirming authorizations, and handling medical records requests.
  • Ensure cleanliness and proper stocking of examination rooms, notifying supervisors when supplies are low.
  • Adhere to all federal, state, and local legal and professional standards.
  • Respond to patient communications via phone, text, and voicemail, and make necessary calls as assigned.
  • Process laboratory orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Complete medical clearances required for patient procedures.
  • Maintain an Excel spreadsheet to track patient readiness for advanced procedures, including necessary clearances and documentation.
  • Schedule interventional pain procedures as required.
  • Follow up with personal injury patients regarding appointments and coordinate with legal representatives as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support the overall function of the team.

Qualifications:

  • State certification as a Medical Assistant.
  • Certification as a Medical Scribe.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience as a Medical Scribe is mandatory.
  • Bilingual skills in Spanish and English are preferred.

Physical Demands:
The employee must be able to sit, use hands for equipment manipulation, and communicate effectively. The role requires standing, walking, reaching, and occasionally lifting up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment may vary from moderate to high.
