About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Manager to lead our new-vehicle sales team in Grand Rapids, MI. As a Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales growth, increasing market share, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Forecast sales goals and objectives on a monthly and annual basis.
  • Hire, train, motivate, counsel, and monitor the performance of sales employees.
  • Prepare and administer an annual operating budget for the new-vehicle sales department.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations affecting new-vehicle sales.
  • Maintain accurate sales activity logs and develop a prospecting and sales control system.
  • Develop and implement a follow-up system for new-vehicle purchasers.
  • Conduct daily and weekly sales meetings.
  • Ensure salespeople understand and follow dealership policies and procedures.
  • Work with salespeople to increase new-car gross and F&I penetration.
  • Complete deal settlement sheets and turn them into the accounting office in a timely manner.
  • Establish and maintain standards for vehicle delivery to customers.
  • Provide dealer with accurate floor traffic control data daily.
  • Process salesperson commission sheets and monitor payroll records.
  • Review inventory daily to ensure proper mix for maximum turnover efficiency.
  • Recommend new-car inventory to be carried by color, model, and equipment based on customer and market analyses.
  • Assist the used-vehicle department with trade appraisals as needed.
  • Direct merchandising efforts for the department in conjunction with the sales manager(s) and dealer.
  • Assist in the development of advertising campaigns and other promotions.
Requirements
  • Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Automotive sales management experience is required.
  • Proven leadership ability to mentor and train others.
  • Ability to set and achieve targeted goals.
  • Ability to drive an exceptional customer experience.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and follow-up skills.
  • Experience and desire to work with technology.
  • Valid driver's license.
