We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to join our residential treatment team at LSS Fahrman Center.

About the Role

This 42-bed adult facility provides addictions treatment to men and women using evidence-based and client-driven therapies. As a Substance Abuse Counselor, you will possess a valid credential from the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services and work primarily Monday through Friday, with some evening hours.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide addiction counseling with supervision and/or case management services to clients in an outpatient, residential, or case management setting.
  • Complete assessments, diagnostics, screening, and referral.
  • Obtain required additional supervision if using UPC, ASAM, AODA assessments such as SUDDs or DSM/ICD 10 criteria.
  • Provide Employment Specialist services to clients as needed.
  • Prepare and complete all required documentation according to state, federal, and agency standards in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate, plan, and facilitate client sessions, including group and individual services.
  • Provide a high level of excellence in communication internally and to external partners, both written and verbal.
  • May provide outreach and education to the public/market services.
  • Provide a high level of case management services and coordinate various social, community, and mental health services received by clients.
