About the Role:

Lutheran Social Services of is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to join our residential treatment team at the LSS Fahrman Center. As a key member of our team, you will provide addiction counseling and case management services to clients in an outpatient, residential, or case management setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide addiction counseling with supervision and/or case management services to clients.
  • Complete assessments, diagnostics, screening, and referral.
  • Obtain required additional supervision if using UPC, ASAM, AODA assessments.
  • Provide Employment Specialist services to clients as needed.
  • Prepare and complete all required documentation according to state, federal, and agency standards.
  • Coordinate, plan, and facilitate client sessions, including group and individual services.
  • Provide a high level of excellence in communication internally and to external partners.
  • May provide outreach and education to the public/market services.
  • Provide a high level of case management services and coordinate various social, community, and mental health services received by clients.

Requirements:

  • Valid credential as a Substance Abuse Counselor - In Training from the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services.
  • Ability to work primarily Monday through Friday, with some evening hours.
  • Compensation commensurate with licensure level.
