Role Summary:

We are in search of a proficient Senior Accountant who possesses a solid foundation in accounting principles and practices. The successful candidate will have experience in financial forecasting, regulatory reporting, and compliance. This role presents an opportunity to collaborate with a dynamic finance team and play a vital role in the financial success of Mayzo, Inc.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Assist in the month-end closing process and prepare monthly financial statements.
    • Analyze and prepare monthly reporting schedules.
    • Conduct monthly account reconciliations for selected general ledger accounts.
    • Provide explanations for monthly selling, general, and administrative (SGA) variances.
    • Support actual versus budget variance analysis.
  • Transaction Management:
    • Handle daily financial transactions, ensuring accuracy in verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording journal entries.
    • Process invoices and manage customer maintenance, including updating pricing changes.
    • Perform detailed transaction analysis to assess account balance appropriateness.
    • Generate and review accounts receivable aging reports.
    • Prepare weekly check runs and positive pay files.
  • Budgeting and Planning:
    • Assist in the preparation of the annual financial budget.
    • Contribute to the creation of monthly sales analysis files.
  • Inventory and Compliance:
    • Support physical inventory counts.
    • Assist in the preparation of the annual financial budget.
  • Special Projects:
    • Engage in various special projects and compile diverse reports.
    • Help document all processes and procedures for accounting systems.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • Experience as a staff or senior staff accountant.
  • Prior involvement in month-end closing activities.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office.
  • High proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
  • Able to work collaboratively and interact effectively with team members.
  • Capable of prioritizing daily responsibilities while meeting deadlines.
