About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at Mayo Clinic. As a Phlebotomist, you will play a critical role in obtaining quality blood samples for medical testing and diagnosis.

Responsibilities
  • Collect blood samples from patients using various phlebotomy methods, including venous, capillary, arterial, and line collections.
  • Provide rapid response to medical emergencies, such as traumas and codes.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Interact with patients, nurses, providers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate patient identification and quality specimen labeling, handling, and transportation.
  • Use computer programs and systems to manage daily tasks and responsibilities.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a medical field preferred.
  • Ability to push a cart and walk distances.
  • Moderate to advanced computer skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
Qualifications
  • Valid phlebotomy certification from an approved laboratory certification agency, such as the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), National Health Career Association (NHA), or the American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians (ASPT).
  • Medical Assistant (MA) certification from an approved agency, such as the American Medical Association (AMA), Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), or Medical Technologist (MT) certification.

Mayo Clinic offers a competitive compensation package, including a salary range of $24.48-$26.14 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Full-time employees are eligible for benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
