Job Summary

The Clinical Case Manager is a key member of the University of the Pacific's Health and Wellness Services team, responsible for providing comprehensive support to students in need of mental health services. This role involves conducting pre-screenings, serving as a liaison between internal and external health care offices, and assisting students in accessing medical and mental health services off-campus.

The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field, with at least three years of experience working in student support services in higher education. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work autonomously, are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct pre-screenings of students requesting counseling services and refer students to appropriate levels of therapeutic care
  • Consult with and make referrals to campus partners to support students' retention and academic outcomes
  • Utilize knowledge and assessment of mental health needs to facilitate referrals to off-campus community resources
  • Assist students requiring specialist care to schedule appointments, complete paperwork, and obtain transportation to increase compliance with recommended treatment plans
  • Serve as a point of contact for faculty, staff, parents, and students to express concerns regarding student behavior for referral to appropriate campus and/or off-campus resources
  • Complete outreach to students identified as needing mental or physical health support to ensure connection to appropriate campus and community resources
  • Provide guidance and consultation to the Dean of Students, Care Managers, Accommodation Specialists, and other critical campus partners on student support, outreach, and intervention strategies
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field
  • At least three years of experience working in student support services in higher education
  • One year of experience utilizing a referral/case management system; knowledge of Student Information Systems and Learning Management Systems
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Valid driver's license required
