Job Title: Direct Support Professional

At Resources for Human Development, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in achieving their goals and living independently.

Job Summary:

The Direct Support Professional is responsible for providing individualized support and supervision to our consumers, promoting their safety and well-being in community-based settings. This role requires a strong commitment to person-centered care and a passion for empowering individuals to reach their full potential.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide supervision and support to individuals in accordance with their individualized support plans, promoting healthy and socially acceptable behaviors.
  • Coordinate with clinical staff to implement residentially based interventions and assist clients in achieving their clinical assignments.
  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, meal preparation, toileting, hygiene, and other daily tasks as needed.
  • Transport clients to appointments and activities, ensuring their safe and timely arrival.
  • Complete required documentation, including medication administration and client progress reports.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Basic computer and internet literacy, with the ability to utilize applications like email and time recording software.
  • Prior experience in the human services field is preferred, but not required.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain FBI clearance, if applicable.
