About the Role

The Graphic Design Production Artist will play a pivotal role in creating visually compelling and engaging materials to support our marketing and communications initiatives. This position will be responsible for managing outside vendors as it relates to print production and digital delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and revise print documents, execute copy edits and basic design layout changes based on instruction from Designers and Marketing.
  • Provide quality control of all artwork (online and print) by reviewing accuracy of color builds, typesetting, grammar, image resolution, design, etc. and preparing final print files for press.
  • Update and manage the content of our Word Press with Elementor based website.
  • Adapt to evolving priorities and projects, managing multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to use Asana to manage project details and make edits with a meticulous eye while continuing to maintain brand standards and message consistency in an evolving environment.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of basic design principles, best practices, and the Organization brand standards.
  • Work closely with the Marketing and Communications Team to brainstorm and execute unique creative design concepts that meet project goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, web design, or a related field.
  • In lieu of a degree, the candidate can have 5+ years of applicable and proven experience.
  • At least 5 years of production experience which includes print, digital, and web design.
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) is required.
  • Expertise knowledge in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) is required.
  • Experience in Word Press with Elementor highly desired.
  • Experience in Mail Chimp and knowledge of basic email editing highly desired.
  • Advertising or agency experience a plus.
  • Video editing and/or animation experience a plus.

Kansas City Scholars, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) college scholarship and tuition-free job training program. Our goal is to support persistence and increase the college completion rate for low- and modest-income students across the six-county, bi-state service region and secure family-sustaining careers.

We provide tuition assistance to approved career training programs in high-demand industries such as construction, healthcare, information technology, logistics/warehousing, manufacturing and service careers. With our support, adults 17+ and older can learn the skills needed in one year or less to secure a job with family-sustaining wages.

We support all our Scholars throughout their college or job training and into their first year of employment.
