At ABM Industries, we are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Building Engineer to join our team. This full-time role is responsible for operating and maintaining equipment associated with electrical and mechanical operations in a data center setting.

Job Summary

This Data Center Building Engineer will be working on a 2nd shift schedule from 3pm-11pm, Wednesday-Sunday. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating and maintaining electrical and mechanical equipment, as well as troubleshooting electrical problems and restoring power when failures occur.

In this role, you will also be responsible for installing and maintaining lighting and controls for lighting, small projects that include installing conduit and wiring, and operating, maintaining, and repairing equipment associated with HVAC, chilled water systems, and mechanical operations.

Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain equipment associated with electrical and mechanical operations
  • Troubleshoot electrical problems and restore power when failures occur
  • Install and maintain lighting and controls for lighting
  • Perform small projects such as installing conduit and wiring
  • Operate, maintain, and repair equipment associated with HVAC, chilled water systems, and mechanical operations
  • Safe and proper operation of life safety equipment and minor plumbing
Requirements
  • Ability to perform all work using the proper personnel protective equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to perform all applicable safety policies, procedures, and practices
  • Attention to detail with good organizational capabilities
  • Ability to prioritize with good time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and consistently achieve results
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Willingsness to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays
  • Ability to lift and move 50 lbs of equipment; work on platforms, ladders, and under a raised floor
