Position Summary:


The Financial Operations Manager oversees the financial activities of the organization by executing the following responsibilities personally or through subordinate staff.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Conducting monthly reconciliations and accounting functions such as:

Monthly Subledger Reconciliation Oversight:
Reviewing bank statements, accounts payable, fixed asset depreciation, and monthly P-card reports (including limits and usage)
Managing aspects of the annual external audit process
Updating balance sheet logs and reviewing transactions
Assisting in the preparation of reports for board meetings and management reviews
Ensuring timely issuance of monthly financial reports to department heads
Providing the Finance Director and Comptroller with timely updates on the organization's payables status and progress on various initiatives (including capital projects)
Responsible for closing fiscal periods within the accounting system
Reviewing monthly general ledger entries for discrepancies
Supporting the monthly and annual closing processes to meet deadlines
Identifying errors and recommending improvements for efficiency and cost management
Evaluating and suggesting enhancements to accounting systems and procedures
Supervising staff accountants and accounting clerks
Participating in the establishment of financial standards and forecasting processes
Planning, assigning, and reviewing staff work related to general ledger and reporting
Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to enhance internal controls
Ensuring adherence to GAAP principles

Professional Qualifications:

Demonstrated analytical, strategic thinking, and organizational capabilities
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work independently and engage with details with minimal team support
Fluency in English and Spanish is preferred

Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
A Master's degree in accounting or CPA designation is preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in the accounting sector; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Familiarity with financial management systems, such as Business Central and online banking platforms.

Spiritual Qualifications:

Willingness to actively participate in the ministry's activities.

Must be a born-again Christian who conducts affairs in alignment with biblical principles and maintains a lifestyle consistent with scriptural teachings.
