This role is classified under the MTA Title as Lead-Based Paint SSPC C3 Supervisor. We are also in search of an Environmental Scientist.The position emphasizes field operations, SSPC C3 Lead Supervision, as well as asbestos and lead assessments and monitoring, presenting avenues for both career advancement and personal development. The ideal candidate should exhibit self-motivation and possess a robust technical foundation, allowing for independent work.
The successful applicant will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in asbestos and lead oversight, which includes:
- Executing lead inspections
- Managing abatement, air sampling, and project oversight
- Documenting abatement logs, photographic records, and reports
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct on-site evaluations during Lead Disturbance Activities
- Perform asbestos and lead assessments and inspections
- Execute asbestos and lead air sampling and project monitoring
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and abatement contractors
- Draft survey reports, daily logs, and abatement documentation
- Be available for night and weekend assignments as required
- SSPC C3 Lead Supervisor certification
- Over 2 years of pertinent asbestos and lead survey experience, familiarity with NYSDOL asbestos regulations, and OSHA lead standards
- Experience with MTA - NYCT
- Certifications as NYSDOL Asbestos Inspector, Air Sampling Technician, and Project Monitor
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Valid New York State Driver's License
- NYCT, LIRR, MNR, SIRTOA Track Training
- Experience with New York State agencies such as DASNY and NYCHA
