Job SummaryThe Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) mission is to provide tools, resources, and environments that support safe, efficient, healthy behaviors and encourage employees to proactively manage their health and wellbeing. To support this focus area, we're seeking a full-time WHS Specialist to serve as a designated representative for their assigned building, coordinating and implementing all areas of the Global Program as directed by leadership.
Key Responsibilities- Identify and inform management of compliance issues, risks, and improvement opportunities through the conduct of regular audits.
- Facilitate investigation processes and maintain required paperwork to comply with Amazon and regulatory standards.
- Enter information in internal databases in a timely manner.
- Perform observations and audits to ensure a safe work environment.
- Train and assist others, including Area Managers and team members, to complete their responsibilities.
- Perform specific training as required by management.
- May have additional responsibility for fire prevention, hazardous waste management, or other related activities depending on the business unit and location.
- Participate in process improvement activities and manage actions to completion.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) related field or a bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910.
- Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel in a professional capacity.
- Experience maintaining confidentiality in matters involving security and/or personnel issues in the workplace.
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including days, nights, and/or weekends.
