Radiation Oncology Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Radiation Oncology Nurse to join our team at ChristianaCare. As a Radiation Oncology Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our Radiation Oncology department.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing radiation therapy, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists, radiation therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by radiation oncologists, and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history, and laboratory results.
- Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical history, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and treatment plans.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest radiation oncology treatments, technologies, and best practices.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families on radiation therapy, treatment options, and self-care.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes.
- Current RN licensure in the state of DE.
- Two years of nursing experience, preferably in oncology.
- Advanced nursing degree or certification as an Oncology Nurse (OCN) by the Oncology Nursing Society is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
