At JUWI Americas, we are committed to advancing solar energy solutions. We are currently seeking a Solar Power Systems Specialist to help us realize our ambitious goals in the renewable energy sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the initial design and optimization of solar power systems, serving as the primary technical contact for project specifications.
  • Collaborate with the Business Development team to address technical and performance requirements for project proposals.
  • Enhance generation modeling accuracy and work with colleagues to ensure optimal results.
  • Contribute to the forecasting and performance reporting of operational plants.
  • Provide technical support for financing generation models and performance assurances while introducing innovative ideas.
  • Analyze existing designs and equipment to support system optimization efforts.
  • Conduct performance guarantee assessments.
  • Offer technical insights for performance testing and troubleshooting in case of identified underperformance.
  • Develop cost-effective design improvements for new projects or testing facilities.
  • Stay updated on the latest design methodologies and cost-saving strategies in the industry.
  • Create automated tools to enhance design efficiency and performance.
  • Manage and maintain weather station equipment, contributing to its design and data collection methods.
  • Support ongoing equipment evaluations both on-site and remotely, and assist in the testing and qualification of new technologies.
  • Engage in long-term engineering research and apply insights to contemporary designs.

Qualifications:
  • Strong foundation in solar energy and electrical engineering principles, including production modeling and power generation.
  • Proficient in solar modeling software such as PVSYST, SAM, PVCase, SolarGIS, or equivalent.
  • Experience in processing and analyzing large datasets.
  • Ability to coordinate and assess complex situations effectively.
  • Degree in electrical engineering or related field with a minimum of five years in PV plant engineering.
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Matlab, Python, data acquisition systems, and MS Office Suite.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance protocols in electrical and instrumentation installations.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to pursue new ideas independently.
  • Commitment to high standards of ethics, safety, and productivity.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary tasks effectively.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to handle stress; occasional travel may be required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of utility-scale interconnection processes or grid network modeling.
  • Master's degree in a relevant technical discipline.
  • Understanding of the National Electrical Code and National Electrical Safety Code.
  • Awareness of NERC standards and their implementation in design.
