Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth theoretical investigations to enhance understanding of the physical consequences of newly identified inertial waves in the solar photosphere.
- Implement innovative basis function representations within the Rayleigh convection code to optimize the application of sparse linear solving techniques.

- Cultivate and expand an independent research initiative through securing external funding.
- Design and execute numerical experiments and theoretical studies aimed at exploring angular momentum transport and magnetic field generation within stellar interiors.

- Share and communicate research findings with the scientific community, which includes participating in professional conferences, submitting research papers to peer-reviewed journals, and contributing to collaborative group meetings.

- Actively pursue external funding opportunities for research endeavors and engage in collaborative proposals that align with departmental growth strategies.

- Participate in the mentorship of postdoctoral researchers within the group, focusing on stellar dynamo theory challenges.

- Contribute to the ongoing development of open-source fluid dynamics software packages, including Rayleigh, Dedelus, and Coral.

Qualifications:
- A PhD in Physics, Astronomy, Astrophysics, Applied Mathematics, Applied Physics, Solar Physics, Planetary Sciences, or a related discipline is required.

Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of postdoctoral experience in scientific software development, demonstrating proficiency in compiled programming languages such as FORTRAN and C/C++, as well as familiarity with MPI and OpenMP standards.
- At least 3 years of postdoctoral experience in developing sparse-matrix and/or parallel-spectral algorithms applicable to fluid solvers.
- A minimum of 3 years of postdoctoral experience utilizing computational fluid dynamics software (e.g., ASH, Rayleigh, Dedelus, Magic) for research on stellar and planetary convection.

Research Record:
- A proven track record of published research in solar dynamo studies and related fields, encompassing convection, magnetohydrodynamics, and atmospheric wave theory.
