SUMMARY:

We are in search of a proficient and seasoned Staff Accountant to enhance our finance department, supporting our distinctively branded enterprises. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in overseeing our vibrant financial operations, delivering precise and strategic financial insights to the organization. This position demands flexibility, robust analytical capabilities, and a proactive mindset.

The Front Climbing Club is recognized as Utah's inaugural indoor rock climbing facility and stands among the pioneers in the nation. Our lifestyle gyms encompass Cafes, Yoga, Group fitness, and beautifully designed recreational spaces. You will also collaborate with our affiliated company, Vertical Solutions.

Vertical Solutions is the foremost domestic climbing wall manufacturer, providing all essentials for climbers, including walls, holds, and pads.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee daily accounting functions, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general ledger management.
  • Prepare financial statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to relevant accounting standards.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement.
  • Assist in formulating and executing financial policies, procedures, and controls tailored to the specific needs of a start-up environment.
  • Monitor cash flow, manage working capital, and provide recommendations for optimizing financial resources.
  • Prepare tax submissions, ensuring compliance with applicable tax regulations.
  • Support financial analysis and reporting to aid strategic decision-making for stakeholders.
  • Calculate and document depreciation.
  • Ensure compliance across multiple states, including sales tax obligations.
  • Conduct annual and quarterly planning sessions.
  • Perform Job Costing analysis.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated 2-3 years of experience as an Accountant or Staff Accountant, ideally in a start-up or entrepreneurial setting.
  • Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, practices, and regulations (GAAP).
  • Proficient in accounting software and advanced skills in MS Excel.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic start-up atmosphere.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to provide strategic financial advice and support to entrepreneurs.
  • High integrity and ethical standards.
  • Capacity to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Experience working in a collaborative office environment.

COMPENSATION: Pay range is $55,000-60,000 annually, based on experience.
