**Job Summary**

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for providing accounting support to the Controller, assisting with daily and monthly transactional activities, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and Barco's accounting policies. This role will involve recording, preparation, research, and reporting related to general ledger activities, month-end closing activities, reconciliation of accounts, financial-related reports, schedules, and tax preparation.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • **Financial Statement Review**: Review and analyze financial statements, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and account analysis to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
  • **Monthly Financial Reporting**: Review, analyze, investigate, and report on monthly financial statement results to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • **Financial Policy Development**: Assist in the development, implementation, and revision of financial policies, procedures, systems, and practices that are part of the company's set of internal controls.
  • **Month-End Coordination**: Assist in the coordination of month-end activities, including bank reconciliation, borrowing base reports, and sales tax.
  • **Controller Support**: Assist the Controller in various activities, including bank reconciliation, borrowing base reports, and sales tax.
  • **Departmental Support**: Work with AR, AP, and other departments as needed to resolve issues and ensure optimal results.

**Requirements**

  • **CPA Certification**: Must have a valid CPA certification.
  • **Accounting Software**: High competency with accounting software, spreadsheets, databases, data extraction, and MS tools.
  • **GAAP Knowledge**: Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
  • **Organizational Skills**: Highly organized and good time management skills.
  • **Attention to Detail**: High level of attention to detail and ability to stay on task.
  • **Communication Skills**: Ability to communicate at all levels of an organization from end-user to senior management.
  • **Results-Driven**: Results-driven and proactive, with a strong desire to own and execute area of responsibility with excellence.
