POSITION SUMMARY

The Technology Coordinator is essential in fulfilling the mission of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). This role involves leveraging expertise to:

  • Strategic Development: Formulate and manage the technology strategy for Geographic Information Systems (GIS), performance monitoring dashboards, tracking systems, and innovative management software that enhances operational efficiency.
  • Process Analysis: Evaluate current processes for their efficiency and effectiveness. Provide updates on project progress and propose new technological initiatives to leadership.
  • Project Leadership: Direct projects related to GIS and software technology solutions that support operational activities, including overseeing implementation and utilization within the organization. Offer recommendations to management regarding project advantages and resource allocation.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain project schedules and oversee project workflows and deliverables. Conduct testing and quality assurance reviews to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Mapping and Coordination: Create and adjust maps, graphs, or diagrams utilizing Geographic Information Software and related tools. Provide critical support during emergency situations to ensure the availability of accurate and timely maps as required by management. Collaborate with the Information Resources Division to adhere to agency processes and standards for all initiatives.
  • Training and Support: Educate staff in the Division, Regional Offices, and OCE Director's team on GIS and technology solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Requirements:

Six years of full-time experience in systems administration, business process analysis and modeling, application development, or system and application design.

OR

A master's degree from an accredited institution in computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, mathematics, or a related field, accompanied by three years of relevant experience.

OR

A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, mathematics, or a related field, along with four years of pertinent experience.

OR

Completion of 18 semester hours (27 quarter hours) in computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, mathematics, or a related field, plus five years of applicable experience.
