We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Law Specialist to join our team at the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work on a variety of environmental law issues, including contract review and negotiation, grant management, and regulatory compliance. As an Environmental Law Specialist, you will be responsible for providing legal advice and guidance to agency staff and management on environmental law matters, including contracts, grants, and procurement.

Key Responsibilities

* Review and draft contracts, grants, and other procurement documents
* Provide sound legal advice and opinions on procurements and grants throughout the contract lifecycle
* Represent the TCEQ's Executive Director in procurement-related negotiations and disputes
* Participate in litigation regarding breach of contract
* Mentor attorneys with less experience

Qualifications

* Admission to the State Bar of Texas
* Five years of full-time experience in the practice of law, or employment in a responsible position involving legal work as a primary duty
* Experience with relevant state and federal law and regulations regarding procurements and grants
