Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Education and Training to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of education and training programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement education and training programs that meet the needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Oversee the coordination of vocational programs and active treatment services for individuals residing at the Supported Living Center.
  • Establish program goals and objectives for the education and training department and ensure they are achieved.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure high-quality programs and compliance with regulations.
  • Supervise and manage a team of staff to ensure effective program implementation and delivery.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery and coordination.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Develop and implement corrective actions in response to State Review findings.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in a related field (e.g., special education, psychology, social work).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in education and training program development and implementation.
  • Proven track record of successful program development and implementation.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of client protections, active treatment, and ICF-IID regulations.
  • Knowledge of vocational services programs and supported employment.
  • Ability to analyze data and develop conclusions, recommendations, or plans of action.
