Key Responsibilities:

  • Stay up-to-date on national and international news, politics, science, and culture to ensure accuracy and relevance of editorial content.
  • Analyze and evaluate editorial content for accuracy, logical consistency, and editorial integrity.
  • Conduct research to verify facts and identify sources, and critically examine and evaluate a writer's sources.
  • Work effectively with writers, copy editors, and editors to ensure accuracy and consistency of content.
  • Review and verify supporting content, such as social copy, illustrations, and photographs.
  • Collaborate with a team of professionals to ensure high-quality content.
  • Additional duties as required or assigned by manager.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of ethical reporting standards and practices.
  • Generalist's interest in world and national affairs and a scholar's aptitude for precision.
  • Interest in a broad range of cultural subjects.
  • Diplomatic skills to work successfully with a range of people in complex situations.
  • Fluency in a second language is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work some early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
