Licensed Practical Nurse

MEDIKO INC is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at the Arlington County Detention Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality medical care to patients in a correctional setting.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the center's physician to provide proper medical care for patients
- Schedule dental and medical appointments per Physician's orders
- Provide emergency medical assistance
- Conduct medical history interviews and prepare medical history and physical reports
- Assist the center's Physician in conducting sick call
- Administer medicine dosage and treatment per Physician's orders
- Maintain control of all medications and drugs on hand in accordance with policies and procedures
- Ensure that policies and procedures regarding the Medical Department are followed
- Complete reports and medical forms
- Ensure medical office is clean and properly stocked, and all medications and supplies are promptly ordered
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Completion of an Accredited Nursing Program leading to licensure with the ability to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- High school graduate or equivalent, and must be eighteen (18) years of age or older
- Active, unencumbered state/commonwealth Licensed Practical Nurse license
- Minimum of one (1) year nursing experience, preferably in a correctional center
- Active CPR/BLS certificate required (American Heart Association/American Red Cross guideline approved)
- Combination of education and experience equivalent to these qualifications may be substituted.
