Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Supervisor II

At Lassonde Pappas & Co., Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Maintenance Supervisor II to join our team. This is a critical role that requires a strong background in facilities management, maintenance, and operations.

Job Summary

The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor II will be responsible for overseeing all building-related activities to ensure the good condition of infrastructure and maintain a safe and well-maintained facility. This individual will be well-organized and able to optimize the use of space and equipment while reducing operating costs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate all installations and refurbishments
  • Manage the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards
  • Inspect buildings' structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations
  • Review utility consumption and strive to minimize costs
  • Supervise all staff facilities staff and external contractors
  • Control activities such as parking space allocation, waste disposal, building security, etc.
  • Allocate office space according to needs
  • Handle service contracts
  • Keep financial and non-financial records
  • Perform analysis and forecasting
  • Work closely with maintenance facilities supervisors
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Manage 7-8 employees
  • Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; maintaining a safe, secure, and legal work environment; developing personal growth opportunities
  • Communicate job expectations; plan, monitor, and assess job results; coach, and counsel employees; develop, coordinate, and enforce systems, procedures, and productivity standards
  • Establish strategic goals; identify and evaluate trends; choose a course of action; define objectives; evaluate outcomes
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to multi-task
  • Must have excellent time management skills
Requirements
  • 1-3 years experience as a facility supervisor or manager or relevant experience
  • 1-3 years experience in a Manufacturing or production environment
  • Has or is able to attain an L2 Certification
  • Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices
  • Basic knowledge of accounting and finance principles
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to multi-task
  • Must have excellent time management skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the food/beverage industry
  • Ability to direct, coach, and train others
  • Consultative, influential, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

This position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a production setting.

Frequent: Ability to talk and hear; ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend, and/or crouch; push/pull; lift up to 50 pounds; use of hands and fingers to operate machinery/equipment and all manual and electronic equipment in the area of responsibility. Exposure to wet and humid conditions and fluctuations in ambient temperature (seasonal).

Occasional: Squatting, kneeling, ability to reach above and at shoulder height. Ability to wear a dust mask, and perform Confined Entry using LOTO program. Exposure to toxic and corrosive chemicals.

Vision: Ability to use close and distance vision, as well as color and peripheral vision with or without correction. Must be able to visually detect obstacles and potential dangers in a fast-paced production environment involving high-speed equipment and powered industrial lift equipment.

Hearing: Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Exposure to noise levels from pumps, machinery, forklift traffic, bottle lines, and exhaust fans.
