Job Summary

The Waters of LaGrange is seeking a qualified Medication Aide (QMA) to join our team. As a QMA, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by administering medications in a safe and effective manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Medication Administration: Administer oral medications, including scheduled medications, PRN medications, inhalers, nebulizer treatments, topical and rectal ointments, nasal sprays and drops, eye ointments and drops, ear ointments and drops, and non-invasive treatments.
  • Observation and Reporting: Observe residents for drug reactions and report any concerns to the nurse immediately.
  • Vital Sign Monitoring: Monitor residents' vital signs.
  • Documentation: Document what medications were given for the day on the medication administrator record (MAR) chart.
  • Communication: Report to the nurse on duty general and specific information pertaining to the response of the residents to their medications or treatments and any other pertinent or appropriate information.
  • Medication Audits: Audit documentation to assure accurate, complete, and timely recording of medications and treatments.
  • Resident Care: Safely lift, move, and transfer residents as required.
  • Professional Development: Attend all mandatory meetings and in-services.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in a med pass audit at any time.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • License: Current, unencumbered state license.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
