Key Responsibilities:
As an IT Asset Management Specialist, you will oversee the comprehensive lifecycle of both hardware and software assets, ensuring their effective deployment, recovery, and inventory management. Your responsibilities will include:
- Deploying hardware and peripherals to users in accordance with established protocols.
- Coordinating the shipping and receiving of products to and from various locations.
- Managing the recovery and retrieval of assets from users as necessary.
- Implementing environmentally responsible hardware recycling practices.
- Overseeing secure disposal processes for hardware to protect sensitive information.
- Collaborating with Service Desk personnel to facilitate timely resolutions to requests.
- Conducting quality control checks on all computers before deployment.
Product Lifecycle Management:
- Identifying opportunities for timely replacements and upgrades during budget planning.
- Performing cost analyses for lifecycle replacements to enhance budgeting decisions.
- Tracking and managing warranties for all hardware and software, ensuring timely renewals.
- Maintaining strong relationships with vendors to streamline procurement processes.
- Working with stakeholders to ascertain business needs for hardware products.
- Collaborating with the IT Enterprise Architecture team to recommend suitable products aligned with organizational goals.
Inventory Management System Oversight:
- Acting as the primary custodian of the inventory management system.
- Ensuring all assets are accurately tagged and recorded in the inventory database.
- Conducting regular audits to verify the accuracy of inventory records.
- Developing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to asset management activities.
- Generating and analyzing reports on asset utilization and lifecycle status to support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications:
Experience: A minimum of two years in a related field, demonstrating expertise in asset management and inventory control.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience.
