Water/Wastewater Construction Manager

At KBA, Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Civil Construction Manager - Water/Wastewater to join our team. As a key member of our construction management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day construction management activities and serving as the primary representative of the construction contractors and the client.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Inspector's (Daily Reports) documenting quantities and quality of contractor's performance.
- Manage administrative staff documentation of meeting notes and correspondence.
- Develops working relationships with agency staff and stakeholders.
- Understands document control for the project (i.e., materials documentation of RFI, contractor payment, contractor employment records) at an advanced level with oversight from more experienced staff.
- Ensures accountability by holding oneself and others accountable to meet commitments.
- Takes on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm; independently.
- Communicates effectively by developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the project needs to external partners (i.e.: clients, consultants, and contractors).
- Shows courage by stepping up to address difficult issues and saying what needs to be said.
- Cultivates innovation by creating new and better ways for the project to be successful and tapping resources.
- Uses resourcefulness by securing and deploying project resources effectively and efficiently.

- Ability to advise, oversee, and manage a team. Understand their roles and responsibilities, assist in resolving issues, and provide coaching and development of staff.

Requirements:
- Five (5) to Ten (10) years of experience.
- Water Distribution Manager I, II, III or IV and/or Washington Cross Connection Control Specialist (CCS) certification and/or Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator I, II or III background preferred.
- Understanding of construction methods, including standards, tools and materials, methods, equipment, processes, and safety considerations; and an ability to read and interpret complex contract documents construction or repair of various resources including water and wastewater and process equipment installations.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Experience with computer applications.
- Strong written and oral communication skills including the ability to maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating so that you get along with clients, contractors, co-workers, and management.
- A valid driver's license and a good driving record are required.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, such as boxes of records, is required.
Preferred Requirements:
- Utility owner previous work experience preferred.
- B.S. in Civil Engineering and PE preferred.
- CCM or PMP preferred.
- Experience with the software we use at an intermediate level: Microsoft Office, MS Project, SharePoint, BlueBeam
- Experience on alternative delivery projects, including GC/CM and/or Design-Build.
- Minimum 4 years construction inspection experience on heavy civil projects including bridge, roadway, transit, and/or rail.
