Job Description

Position Summary:

The Raymond A. Mason School of Business at William & Mary is seeking a pool of adjunct faculty to teach one or more undergraduate/graduate courses in Marketing. As a premier liberal arts university, we offer high-quality educational programs at the undergraduate, graduate, and professional levels, and create and communicate new knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review course content, activities, assignments, and assessments prior to the term start date.
  • Prepare a syllabus with guidance from the Department Chair and/or lead instructor.
  • Coordinate course activities with the Department Chair and/or lead instructor, and the Associate Dean for the program as necessary.
  • Promote inclusive excellence and academic integrity.
  • Support student learning using W&M's learning management system.
  • Support documented student accommodations.
  • Meet all designated course instruction guidelines and adhere to the academic credit hour policies & guidelines.
  • Maintain frequent and open communication with Department Chair, other faculty, and staff.
  • Provide students with timely and specific feedback.
  • Respond to student inquiries within 24 hours.
  • Grade assignments and exams in a timely manner.
  • Offer weekly office hours for individual or group consultation.
  • Submit final grades according to William & Mary policy and the individual program calendars.
  • Submit end-of-semester feedback and reflection form.
  • Complete all required training and orientation activities prior to the term start date.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree directly related to the discipline.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to incorporate technology in education processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. or other doctoral degree directly related to the discipline.
  • Expertise and relevant professional experience in a closely related field.
  • Previous experience providing instruction in an academic or corporate setting.
  • Computer proficiency and experience using Blackboard or a similar learning management system.

Conditions of Employment:

Position is restricted to one semester.
