About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Human Factors Engineer to join our team at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). As a Human Factors Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and operationalizing advanced and autonomous solutions to revolutionize healthcare and socio-technical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply human factors and cognitive engineering principles to support solutions development
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to conduct research and systems development
  • Utilize User-Centered Design (UCD), User Experience (UX), and User Interface (UI) design skills to rapidly develop prototypes
  • Support the development and review of systems engineering artifacts related to human factors, system usability, task analysis, vulnerability assessment, and human systems integration
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, human factors engineering, human systems integration, computer science, or a related field
  • 6+ years of relevant experience with demonstrated proficiency in requirements analysis and development, experimental design, human performance measurement, and system evaluation
  • Experience with User-Centered Design (UCD), User Experience (UX), and User Interface (UI) design
  • Ability to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by start date and ultimately obtain a Secret level clearance
